Export Quattro Pro Spreadsheets to SQLite

One SQLite file for the workbook, a table for each sheet, and the same local conversion you already use for Excel and CSV.

Quattro Pro sheets exported to a SQLite database, an Excel workbook, and CSV

TL;DR

Quattro Pro Converter 6.3.1 can write SQLite as well as XLSX, PDF, HTML, Markdown, and CSV. Each sheet becomes a table. The first text row is used as the column names when it looks like a header. Conversion Library opens the SQLite file on this PC. Nothing is uploaded.

A workbook is a set of sheets

Legacy Quattro Pro files — `.qpw`, `.wq1`, `.wq2`, `.wb1`, `.wb2`, and `.wb3` — are spreadsheets. Excel is the format most people ask for first. A database is what you want when the next step is a query, an import into Microsoft Access, or a search across many converted workbooks.

Choose SQLITE with the other output formats. The converter writes one `.sqlite` file. Each sheet becomes a table in that file.

How the table is shaped

When the first row is text, that row becomes the column names and the rows under it become the data. Blank headers are named Column 1, Column 2, and so on. If the first row is numeric, every row is stored as data and the columns are named Column 1 onward.

Dates are written as `yyyy-MM-dd`. Empty workbooks are reported instead of producing an empty database.

CSV and Excel are still there

SQLite does not replace the other outputs. Keep XLSX for a workbook, CSV for a plain text table, and PDF, HTML, or Markdown when that is what the recipient needs. Select more than one format and the same source file is written each way.

The old Excel 97-2003 `.xls` output is no longer offered. XLSX is the Excel file. SQLite is the portable database.

Open it in Conversion Library

Conversion Library lists `.sqlite` files with the rest of the converted folder. Open one and you get a sheet-style grid, a table list, and search across the text that was exported. Excel and Microsoft Access can import the same file if that is the tool you use next.

The work stays on this Windows PC. LibreOffice is included in the installer, so Quattro Pro does not have to be installed.

Same download

This is Quattro Pro Converter 6.3.1, not a separate utility. The free trial covers the new SQLite output. A license removes the trial limit.
